Sian – Assistant Management Accountant
I started at First Home Improvements in July 2022 as a Finance Apprentice and commenced studying for my AAT accounting qualifications; I have now completed Level 3 and am progressing well through Level 4.
The Finance team fully support me in my development and have helped me progress into the role of Assistant Management Accountant. Working closely alongside the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll teams has broadened my understanding of the duties that the Finance function holds, and its responsibilities within the business.
My role is diverse and sees me conducting a variety of tasks, these include the completion of daily bank reconciliations, completing sales reporting and assisting in the provision of management information to other staff members throughout the business.
Studying for my qualifications whilst simultaneously completing an apprenticeship allowed me to apply the on-the-job experience I gain at work directly into the progression of my studies; this has made understanding the course material and passing exams much easier!
