Minster Glass

Minster textured glass is another very commonly used vision-obscuring glass that is more visible from other rooms than other types like Stipployt and Cotswold textured glass.

Minster glass is a rolled textured glass with small dents repeated across the entire surface of the glass to create a semi-rough texture that barely obstructs visibility but creates an adequate level of privacy. It comes in a standard thickness of 4mm and obscurity with a privacy level of 2 (low/medium obscuration), you can just see through this glass but not any level of detail.

Minster textured glass can be used in doors and windows for single and double-glazed applications, but is touched as a basic standard and is most popular in residential applications.

At First Home Improvements, we offer a wide variety of processing treatments to our minster textured glass including:

  • Toughening for windows and doors that are within 30cm of a door or 80cm from a finished floor,
  • Holes for fixtures and fittings, and
  • Radius corners and rounded edges,

There are different lead times required for the preparation of your new minster glass panels, but a safe estimate would be to give us at least 3 weeks, but this will depend on your specific requirements.
