Conservatory Technical Surveyor
Up to £60,000 per annum
Main Purpose of Role
For over 50 years, First Home Improvements has been helping homeowners transform their properties with high-quality conservatories, windows, doors and home improvement solutions.
As demand for our conservatories continues to grow, we’re expanding our Conservatory Division and are looking to recruit an additional Conservatory Technical Surveyor to join our successful team.

MAIN DUTIES
As a Conservatory Technical Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out accurate site surveys that form the foundation of every successful installation.
Working closely with our Sales, Operations, Manufacturing and Installation teams, you will ensure each project is surveyed correctly, any potential issues are identified early, and all technical information is complete before manufacture begins.
You will act as the technical expert on site, providing confidence to our customers while ensuring every installation is set up for success.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carry out detailed technical surveys for conservatory installations.
- Accurately measure and verify all dimensions and customer specifications.
- Produce clear and accurate technical survey drawings and documentation.
- Identify structural, access or installation challenges and recommend practical solutions.
- Assess existing buildings, ground conditions and site suitability.
- Confirm product specifications prior to manufacture.
- Liaise with customers, builders, installers and internal departments to ensure projects run smoothly.
- Ensure surveys comply with relevant Building Regulations and company quality standards where applicable.
- Provide technical support to Installation Teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate digital survey records and complete reports within agreed timescales.
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience on every visit.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
- Previous experience as a Technical Surveyor, Surveyor or Senior Installer.
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software to produce technical drawings.
- Knowledge of conservatory construction methods and current Building Regulations.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and architectural plans.
Essential Knowledge & Skill
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience within the home improvement industry, ideally conservatories, glazed extensions, windows or doors.
- Excellent surveying and measuring skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to identify and resolve technical challenges.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable using tablets and digital systems.
